With all of the attacks on women’s reproductive health, there is no better time to become active and engaged on abortion issues than during the anniversary of Roe vs. Wade. The Silver Ribbon Campaign does just that with their Online March for Trust Women Week.
The Silver Ribbon Campaign is a coalition of 42 national and local pro-choice organizations, including the Feminist Majority Foundation. The Campaign declared the week of January 20-27 Trust Women Week, marking the 39th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision. During this week, the Campaign is leading a national Online March to, as Ms. Blog puts it, “mobilize pro-choice supporters and build solidarity and momentum for reproductive health, rights and justice in 2012.”
Join the Online March today! This national Online March will allow supporters to see their “click” of agreement pro-choice message as a dot on a map of the U.S. You also get to see other pro-choice advocates “click on” as well as their location. Marchers will have the option to choose from a variety of pro-choice messages, like “I trust women and I vote,” “Reproductive rights are human rights,” “Keep abortion safe and legal, and make it accessible and affordable,” and others. The messages will be directed at members of Congress as well as Governors.
It has been a tough period of time for abortion rights and reproductive justice in general. Help us fight by joining The March today, and displaying your pro-choice message. Happy Roe V. Wade everyone! Let’s not forget to keep fighting for the rights that we don’t have and protect the ones that can be taken away from us!
