The Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) is at a standstill in Congress and we need your help to break the logjam. VAWA is too important for us to allow it to fall victim to partisan bickering. We are asking your help in finding survivors of dating violence, sexual assault and stalking on campus who are willing to sign this letter to be delivered to every Member of the House and Senate. We want to be sure that Congress knows what is at stake for each and every student across the country as they delay in acting on this critical bill.
Right now there are two VAWA’s: the “real VAWA” passed by the Senate which includes important provisions addressing safety on campuses and protections for LGBT, immigrant and Native American survivors of violence; and the “fake” VAWA passed by the House which eliminated these critical provisions. We are working hard to ensure that Congress passes the “real” VAWA and we need your help.
Please read this letter and share it widely.
For equality,
FMF Campus Team

Women are still considered second hand citizens, and are commonly abused without legal intervention. This is sick and preventable. We are half of the population!
