Teens and Job Skills

teen jobs2

In considering the crisis of teenage unemployment, I realize how lucky I am to have gotten my current job at Temple Sinai. In the Jewish community where I live, many parents send their children from kindergarten through tenth grade to Hebrew school. It was through this process that I was identified as a leader and [...]

antiabortion-billboard5

Not again. Another anti-abortion billboard was put on display by the Restoration Project in Atlanta last week, this time targeting African American leader Jesse Jackson. The billboard reads “What does it mean to be betrayed?” with “betrayed” written in blood-scripted letters. What’s even more insulting is The Restoration Project’s domain for their website: www.abortioninthehood.com. It [...]

Title IX, which bans sex discrimination in any federally-financed education program, has largely drawn attention to and been labeled [...]

Education policy makers in Georgia are attempting to prevent undocumented youth from accessing higher education in this country. The Georgia House introduced Bill 59, a bill that would essentially restrict eligible immigrant youth from applying to some of the top schools in the state. “The Georgia 7″ are a group of undocumented students who came [...]

Women’s Studies is Not “Easy”

June 7, 2010 by Guest Blogger Leave a Comment

Guest post by Kari Some things really tick me off. Any time I hear the phrase “no homo” I experience a semi-blinding fury. Overtly sexist TV commercials (thank you Super Bowl) provide me with endless anger issues. Spiders both terrify and anger me. But one thing that will always send me into a (righteous) fury [...]
