Personhood Colorado Gets Enough Signatures for Ballot

Well, here we go again folks. On Monday the Colorado Personhood Coalition submitted 112,121 signatures for a “personhood” amendment, of which 86,105 are required for advancement.  This will be their third consecutive campaign to outlaw abortion rights in the state, and let’s hope it is their third defeat. Teen Girls Demand Woman Moderator for Presidential Debate

Who said grrrl power is dead? Three high school sophomores from Montclair, N.J.—Emma Axelrod, Elena Tsemberis and Sammi Siegel—took their power to the next level when they created a Change.org petition calling for a woman moderator in the national presidential debates.

With millions of voters potentially impacted by new, restrictive voter ID laws, the question of why such laws are being enacted has a simple answer: to sway elections by only counting a portion of our citizens’ votes. This is especially true when it comes to student voters, one of the most underrepresented demographics at the ballot box, and female voters, who make up the majority of college students.
