NOTE: Nominations have closed. We are in the process of reviewing the entries and will announce semi-finalists soon!
We’re on the lookout for amazing college feminists across the country. People who are dedicated and passionate about social justice. People who wear the word “feminist” proudly on their sleeves. People who are creating real change on their campuses and in their communities.
Does this sound like a friend? Does this sound like you? If so, you just might be a contender for our first-ever Feminist You Should Know Campaign!
Here’s how #FYSK2013 works:
Nominations open on Monday, Oct. 28 and close on Friday, Nov. 8. Simply fill out our handy-dandy nomination form and include all the reasons why this nominee is an amazing, fabulous Feminist You Should Know. We want to know what projects they’ve worked on, what issues they most care about, what they’ve done to create change around them and all those little tidbits that make us go, “Wow, I want to know that person.”
Note: You don’t have to be in college to be nominated! Ideally, we’re looking for young feminists, under the age of 25.
Your National Campus Organizer team will pick the campaign finalists and announce them on Wednesday, Nov. 13. Please note that we will contact all nominees and finalists before publishing their names or stories.
Then the fun part starts. Starting Monday, Nov. 18, we will publish individual blog posts about the finalists on our Campus Blog. We’ll tally the number of “votes” each post gets by adding the total number of comments, Facebook shares and tweets. So, if you’re a finalist, make sure you share the blog post widely!
We’ll announce the winner on Monday, Dec. 2. Each finalist and the Feminist You Should Know winner will receive sweet feminist prize packages. (Like, really sweet. We’re jealous of them).
So, friends: Got a Feminist You Should Know? We want to meet them! Nominate starting Oct. 21!
