The Associate Director, Facility and Operational Consulting serves as a project leader working closely with CAPS (Consortium of Abortion Providers), litigation and policy teams to analyze and develop operational expertise in order to advise affiliates on TRAP legislation and regulations. TRAP (Targeted Regulation of Abortion Provider) bills single out abortion clinics for unnecessary, political motivated, restrictive regulations. The regulations imposed by TRAP bills can include various healthcare facility and structural requirements and/or establishes new licensing requirements. TRAP bills impose restrictions on who can provide abortions and where. The Associate Director, who reports to the Director of CAPS Service Delivery & Training, provides analysis, consulting, technical assistance and training to affiliates in the areas of TRAP legislation may impact. In this new role, the Associate Director will take the lead on reviewing and analyzing pending legislation/regulations and anticipate the impact on affiliates. The Associate Director will also analyze active legislation/regulations to understand operational requirements and work with affiliates to become compliant and partner with healthcare facility experts to advise on proactive TRAP facility provisions for future healthcare facilities.
