We are seeking a Sr Systems Architect - NERC to join the staff at our Bethesda, MD location. This is the lead technical position for the Company's Microsoft Windows NT/2000 Environment. Responsibilities include setting the strategic direction for and leading the overall engineering of the Windows Environment. Providing tier 3 technical support for the Windows Server Environment. Meeting with business customers and IT management to engineer technical solutions to business problems and to critique technical solutions proposed by others.

Required:
-Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related field or the equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
-Experience demonstrating skill analyzing, designing, implementing, operating, and providing technical support for the GE XA21 Energy Management System.
-Experience demonstrating skill performing activities related to one or more of the following: data networking, database administration, hardware/software operations, software development and maintenance, systems design, training, and/or security.
-Experience demonstrating skill applying knowledge of new and emerging programs/systems to current business processes to maximize efficiency.
-Experience demonstrating skill responding to requests from customers for information and studies.
-Experience demonstrating skill acting as a liaison and coordinating programs/projects with internal/external groups (for example, across departments or lines of business, vendors, consultants, employees).
-Experience demonstrating skill communicating technical information with others orally and in writing (for example, explaining technical information, exchanging technical information with vendors/field techs, understanding and correcting system operator issues).
-Experience demonstrating skill using C+ and Visual Basic programming languages to create and/or modify applications.
-Experience demonstrating skill using relational databases (for example, Access or ORACLE) for database manipulation, administration, and querying.
-Experience demonstrating skill designing macros in Excel or Access using Visual Basic.
-Extensive experience demonstrating skill using Microsoft Windows and UNIX operating systems.
-Experience demonstrating skill using PC-based word processing, spreadsheet, and e-mail software.
-Knowledge of electric utility operations.
-Ability and willingness to travel to various company locations to provide support for three control centers.
-Ability and willingness to work extended and non-standard hours with little or no notice and during system emergencies.
-Ability and willingness to participate in a rotating on-call schedule, to provide 24/7 emergency technical support outside of normal working hours.
-Ability and willingness to adhere to safety regulations and policies and to wear and use safety equipment as required by Federal, State, Local and PHI regulations.
-Must possess a valid driver's license.
-Must successfully pass a Criminal History Records Check.
-Must successfully pass a medical screening to include a drug test.

Preferred:
-Experience demonstrating skill working with Electric System Operations control centers in a utility environment.
