Position Title: Senior Recruiter
Department: Human Resources (Administration)
Duration: Permanent
Location: Washington, DC or San Francisco, CA

Greenpeace is truly only as strong as our people, and the Senior Recruiter will be intimately involved with the process of building a strong, diverse, collaborative team at Greenpeace. The Senior Recruiter advises and supports all managers through the hiring of permanent staff and fellows and oversees the recruitment and support of Greenpeace interns.

Responsibilities Include:

Assist managers in creating recruitment plans, including advising on draft of job descriptions, salary grading, hiring criteria, and interview questions
Coach, support, and train managers to conduct inclusive interviews and make strong and objective hiring decisions
Track and report on diversity staffing metrics, initiatives, and strategic effectiveness; conduct analysis, assess results and identify areas of opportunity and change
Generate diverse applicant pools through job postings and other tools
Proactively and creatively identify strong talent for senior positions; conduct direct outreach, including cold calling
Review and screen applications
Schedule interviews
Explain and enforce hiring policies and procedures
Correspond with job applicants
Ensure that staff and managers are aware of recruitment policies
Maintain and improve recruitment pages on the www.Greenpeace.org website
Keep current on developments in the field of diversity recruiting by maintaining contact with professional organizations and others in the field
Supervise Fellow and/or Intern to coordinate intern and staff recruitment support
Oversee intern recruitment and the internship program
Other recruitment or diversity & inclusion tasks as assigned


Requirements:

At least three years of related recruitment experience
Results-driven and possess a high level of initiative
Ability to multitask in a fast paced, high volume environment while meeting multiple deadlines
An ability to relate to and support individuals across cultural difference and at various levels in the organization
Demonstrable commitment to the value of a diverse and inclusive workplace
Proficiency with statistical analysis
Skill in behavioral interviewing and inclusive interviewing techniques
Knowledge of personnel policy and procedure and federal and state laws regarding employment practices
Familiarity with the different job functions within an advocacy organization a plus
Excellent spoken and written English; Spanish proficiency a strong plus
