Job Title: Outreach Coordinator
Organization: NYC Department of Health/NYC REACH

Description: Description: The NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene
(DOHMH) Primary Care Information Project (PCIP) is devoted to improving population health in underserved neighborhoods through health information technology. PCIP was recently awarded funding to become the Regional Extension Center in New York City -- the NYC Regional Electronic Adoption Center for Health (NYC REACH). In collaboration with The Fund for Public Health in New York (FPHNY), a not for profit corporation serving as program partner with DOHMH to implement and advance public health initiatives, PCIP/NYC REACH is seeking an Outreach Coordinator.


The Outreach Coordinator will be one of the primary links between the healthcare providers and PCIP/NYC REACH. The Outreach Coordinator will serve a vital role in helping PCIP/NYC REACH achieve its goal of assisting thousands of NYC primary care providers and specialists to adopt EHRs. Some major duties of the Outreach Coordinator role are:

- Educate community providers about the
PCIP/NYC REACH Electronic Health Record (EHR) program and Meaningful Use
- Assist in creating and disseminate
outreach materials to assist providers with enrollment, including marketing materials, cost sheets, and FAQ documents
- Work closely with your borough Outreach
Specialist to help reach community partners (health plans, hospitals, medical societies, and Independent Practice Associations) to implement outreach strategies
- Work with Outreach Specialist to determine
events to attend to promote PCIP/NYC REACH; make presentations assist with on-site logistics when needed
- Organize and support provider
participation in on-line EHR education sessions
- Participate in planning of Open Houses,
Meaningful Use Seminars and other events
- Visit practices to educate providers and
their staff, and expedite enrollment and application execution
- Collect and process enrollment paperwork
- Review and maintain list of providers
interested in joining program

Preferred Skills
- One to two years full time experience in
public health, outreach, sales, or marketing experience is preferred.
- Bachelor?s degree and excellent
communication and presentation skills; strong organizational skills
- Must have working knowledge of Excel and
Word; knowledge of Meaningful Use, Power Point; experience with Salesforce CRM software is a plus.
- Experience in a medical practice setting
is also a plus.
- Ability to disseminate information clearly
and concisely with providers and colleagues and work well with all levels of management.
- Willing to travel within the 5 boroughs
and available nights and weekends for events
