Dear Respondent,
I’m 38 yr old female pharmacist, started working in Abu Dhabi in 1997, an Italian doctor, 49 yrs old, working in Britain as a Family Doctor proposed to me in April 2007, so I left my job, canceled my life there, and went back to my family in Palestine in June, preparing for my wedding. We got married in 26-7-2007 in Palestine and spent less than 2 weeks together in Amman before he left back to Britain leaving me waiting for my visa that he was supposed to apply for it. Instead of that, he stopped talking with me after leaving by 2 weeks and I received from the court of Amman the paper of my divorce that was issued on 24-9-2007 and delivered to my uncle in Amman on 11-10-2007 … just like that…
What are the legal procedures that I should go through to certify and legalize my marriage contract in Italy or Britain?
Is their any way that I can demand for my rights according to the Italian law, keeping in mind that I have:
1. The marriage contract certified from the Court Of The Palestinian authority
2. The marriage contract’s translation certified from the Ministry of Justice of the Palestinian Authority
3. The paper of divorce from the court of Amman
4. A copy of his passport
Yours,
Ghadeer M. Khuffash
