Students in Oregon are organizing in support of Measure 89, which would add the Equal Rights Amendment to their state constitution, and we’re coordinating with them to give Oregonian women the constitutional equality they deserve – equality that’s long overdue. These are their faces!
This Saturday, join us on the West Lawn of the US Capitol Building for the We Are Woman alongside women of all ages in support of the Equal Rights Amendment!
Now here stands our generation, mostly “millennial,” yet nearly a half-century removed from the first Women’s Equality Day. We’re just about a full century beyond the height of the women’s suffrage movement, yet our battle cry sounds eerily similar to those founding feminists.
The women’s rights movement has fought for this amendment to become reality for decades, and we were glad we could be there when Congresswomen Jackie Spear and Carolyn Maloney brought women from all generations together to demand it.
