It’s almost Feminist Pride Day! On February 22, folks around the globe will “come out” as feminists and declare, loud and proud, that this movement is about all of the things they stand for – be that reproductive justice, economic and education equity, global women’s rights, LGBT rights, ending sexual violence, or anything else related to the political, social, and economic equality of all women.
We took Feminist Pride Day national in 2011, but this year we asked ourselves: why not celebrate all week long? Our week-long celebration is focused around telling and showing the world #WhatAFeministLooksLike – which will only serve to illustrate that this movement is diverse, varied, and beautiful. And we need your help!
This Feminist Pride Day, we want you to use your stories and your selfies to show people #WhatAFeministLooksLike. You can:
- Sign the “I Am #WhatAFeministLooksLike” pledge;
- Post selfies to Twitter and/or Instagram with the hashtag #WhatAFeministLooksLike as part of our week-long selfie storm contest;
- And share the campaign with your friends using our downloadable graphics and sample tweets!
As a bonus, we’re giving out prizes to the brave faces of the movement: when you post a selfie with the hashtag #WhatAFeministLooksLike, you’ll be entered in a random drawing to win merchandise from the FMF’s Feminist Store!
Let your feminist flag fly. Let’s get this celebration started!
