“I used to be ashamed of all this energy I had inside that was just waiting for the chance to burst and work for some good. I learned to harness it, and that is what led to my journey in activism.”
Donya Nasser is a junior Honors student at St. John’s University studying Political Science and Women’s and Gender Studies. She is very interested in women’s issues and advocacy, and has channelled this passion into the gender studies department at her University, women's organizations like AAUW and NOW, her fellowships with YP4 and ELLA, and her research as a McNair Scholar. She hopes to one day cultivate this devotion to the feminist cause in running for office, so that she may be in a position to better serve women and underrepresented communities.
