It’s #SAAM2015. Here Are Five Ways To Get Involved!

March 31, 2015 by Feminist Campus Team Leave a Comment

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM), so we’ve compiled five ways for you to get involved!

1. Take the pledge.

Take the “It’s On Us” pledge to say that you’re committed to helping keep others safe from sexual assault. By signing on at ItsOnUs.org, you’re agreeing:

“To RECOGNIZE that non-consensual sex is sexual assault.

To IDENTIFY situations in which sexual assault may occur.

To INTERVENE in situations where consent has not or cannot be given.

To CREATE an environment in which sexual assault is unacceptable and survivors are supported.”

Take the pledge here, and encourage your friends, peers, and feminist organizations to do the same!

2. Use our toolkit!

It’s that simple – check out our Campaign to End Campus Sexual Violence toolkit!

3. Create a petition.

Take action and speak out against sexual assault on your campus. Email us for help getting started.

4. Sign the UVA petition to mandate sexual assault education on campus.

5. Host a screening of “The Hunting Ground.”

“The Hunting Ground,” a startling expose of sexual assault on U.S. campuses, institutional cover-ups and the social toll on victims and their families, is a new documentary from the filmmakers behind “The Invisible War.” View the trailer below.
